The Reader
http://www.tribes.org/web/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/the-reader-winslet-kross.jpg

Moving. Disturbing. Sad.

Stating the obvious, it was a great film. If I had to compare it with other films which debated real issues (say doubt, slumdog) that came out this year, I'd say this one seems more relevant and griping (even when it is technically history).

That said I still think Kate Winslet is an overrated oscar whore. At least she is almost nearly dressed in this one. The boy and guy actor(s) were doing a much better job.

The Reader was creepy. Mainly because Kate wasn't hot.

Just watched The Wrestler.

That was a good movie.

Also sad.

I didn't want it to end sadly.

Also watched Seven Pounds again. Thought I fell asleep before the end last time I watched it but I didn't.

God dang there is a lot of crying in that movie. At the end of every scene. Almost definitely.

Andrew

really.. i thought the ending was frightfully cheerful and opitmistic

Joe

about the wrestler

i kinda took it that he died after doing RAMS HEAD onto his opponent on the mat. Was it Ram's head?

seeing as he was about to have another heart attack, the girl he wants doesn't stay to watch, and the movie ends with his 'finishing move'.

So yeah, I dunno about optomistic, but yeah, cheerful I guess - he died doing what he loved most, grappling half-naked sweaty dudes.

unless youre talking about seven pounds in which case;

whaaaat he dieeed man and he gave his heart to the girl and the eyes to the blind man and they hug and oh my god it was sad.

I wasn't but the internet doesn't sell Sarcasm like it should..

The wrestler is heartbreakinngly beautiful, it portrayed the harsh realities of human existence and the disgusting glamor of the industry like a boass. the line "And now, I'm an old broken down piece of meat... and I'm alone. And I deserve to be all alone." Mickey Rourke. Apparently hes gonna be in iron man 2 haha.

And about seven pounds.. He deserved it for being a fucking nigger.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

I don't care how long it is, i would have easily enjoyed another 10 hours of beautiful scenery and carefully crafted cinematography. This film is probably one of the most in-depth look at human psychology and betrayal I have seen. The acting is immaculate, just so so good.

Im sure most of you have seen this, it my 3rd time watching it and each time it gets better an better. Oh man i cant even describe how fucking good this film is. I still cry when i get to the last couple of scenes. there's so much more they can explore with a spin off or somthing. or prequal. I just wish there was more.

The only down side is that the zombies/vampires cgi is kinda silly.

Dont even know what to say about this one..
I remember reading how Paul Anderson once said magnolia was his masterpiece and whatever he did from then on after would not top that film. I think he was wrong. Though this wouldn't have been all his credit because Daniel Lewis's acting is excellent to say the least.

I just watched Coraline.

It was fucking creepy but I have a feeling you guys, especially Joe, will love it. It's right up your alley in the style of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas kind of . Quirky, I suppose, shit.

Now I'm going to have nightmares.

Really enjoyable, heart warming, funny film. Perfect. I could identify with the Billy Curdp and Mandy Moore shines in a role like this. This felt like a walk to remember, funnier and less cheesy and yet still has your heart aching.

New crush: Mandy Moore

Do you download movies mostly or do you actually go into the theaters and stuff?

I'm so broke and I can't remember the last movie I actually paid for. I seriously think it was Wall-E or something

Star Trek was so damn good. I didnt want it to end.
In my dreams they are making a TV series with that cast and everything.

T4 was so bad. McG cant make a film to save his life.

And yeah Joe! I saw In Bruges about a month ago and its one of the best films I have ever seen woooooo.

Fear(s) of the Dark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1SbeoOLOUM
"Six leading graphic artists and cartoonists turn their personal terrors into reality in this nightmarish animated anthology. As reality crosses over into the unknown, these six interlocking stories bring to life fears of the dark, injections, pursuit and more. Stylistically connected, the stark black-and-white imagery adds a layer of the surreal to the already disturbing subject matter."

This was seriously a really good film and you all should watch it! Never has animation sent shivers down my spine...so it's that good.

Best film i've seen in a long time. Utterly enjoyable, even as a cash cow sequel. Its funny and silly and heartwarming. Amy Adams is hot.

Yeah I watched it. It was really awesome, although I was hoping for the stories to interconnect but hey!
