When me and a couple roommates were looking for a game that would run on all of our computers, we settled on AoE2. We grabbed a torrented version of it which we didnt even have to install (er) and it was so much awesome.
Especially the Mongolian highlands(?) map which is essentially tons of cliffs and narrow passageways which made for lots of ambushes and tactical positioning.
