In a better world this book would be mandatory reading for all of us born in the '80s, raised in the '90s, and jaded past 2000.
The premise: In order to date Ramona, Scott must first defeat her evil exes.
I could try summing up the plot but this page from the 4th (out of the so far 5) volume of Scott Pilgrim does it much better:

What that page doesn't show you is the amount of energy, fun and just all round awesomeness that goes into each volume. Not only that, but it's riddled with enough references to video games, comics and movies to make most grown geeks weep with joy.
