I'm sick of MMOs, I'm sick of first person shooters most of the time. Run and gun, grind and gear, its the same shit over and over.

I've been thinking recently that video games have gotten so fucking boring recently and just so streamlined to fit audience expectations.


And then I forgot the development company Team ICO exists. People who brought us ICO which I never really got to play apart from a couple hours at Ben's one time, and Shadow of the Colossus.

And they bring out this;

I watched it for a second time, and you can see how much detail has gone into this game. The animal (whatever the fuck it is, puppy-bird-rat-griffon thing?), its facial expressions and muscles, its movement - the way it eats i.e. theres that cutscene where its eating barrels, one rolls away, it grabs it, like dogs do when they eat.

Then you got the kid, reminscent of the main characters movement in Shadow of the Colossus - gives a sense of weight and realness to the game, and how much force something that big can put on a small human being. Ah, my god. I might buy a PS3 for this game - wish I was joking.

I bought a PS3 recently mostly for Uncharted 2 and this game. Playing through SotC was such good times and Im sad I missed out on Ico. Although I hear there are rumours they will be releasing a double pack on the PSN network for the PS3 with HD support like they did for GoW/GoW2.
